ABOUT US:

Wence's is a family restaurant located in Pleasant Hill, California, that has been serving the community since 2012. Founded by Gerardo Wence, a seasoned chef with over 20 years of dining experience, Wence's began as a cozy establishment with a maximum capacity of just 30 guests, including bar seating. Despite its small size, Wence's quickly captured the hearts of the Pleasant Hill community, thriving through word-of-mouth without any formal advertising. It wasn't long before diners were eagerly waiting for a table, often facing an hour-long wait for a taste of Gerardo's exquisite seafood dishes.

 

Expansion Journey

In 2014, an exciting opportunity arose when the space adjacent to Wence's became available. Recognizing the potential for growth, we took over the lease and expanded our seating capacity by 80 guests, creating what is now known as the Main Room. This expansion allowed us to accommodate even more patrons who had come to love our seafood offerings.

Our journey didn't stop there. In 2019, we seized another opportunity when the space to the left of our restaurant also became vacant. We expanded once again, adding an additional 30 seats in what we now refer to as the Xela Room. Each expansion not only increased our capacity but also deepened our commitment to serving our cherished community.

 

Our Offerings

At Wence's, we specialize in seafood, featuring an open-concept kitchen that includes a vibrant oyster bar. Guests are welcomed with the fresh aroma of our culinary creations, and we proudly offer five different types of oysters daily. Our family works tirelessly to ensure smooth operations, with each member playing a vital role in delivering exceptional service and delicious food.

New Beginnings in Walnut Creek

In 2024, Wence's reached a new milestone when we were given the opportunity to take over Massimo Ristorante, a cherished gem in Walnut Creek. Having served the community for many years, Massimo Ristorante holds a special place in the hearts of its loyal patrons, and we are excited to continue its legacy. The Wence family is now proudly operating both Wence's and Massimo Ristorante, ensuring that our commitment to quality and community remains unwavering.
